The success story of esbe plastic
Recycling, circular economy, reusability and sustainability are crucial tasks of our time in order to ensure a world worth living in for future generations.
esbe plastic GmbH was founded in 1954 by Friedrich Brümmer and developed from a small company producing brush and toothbrush packaging into a leading supplier of plastic packaging.
At the beginning of the 1980s, the company was sold to the Swiss company Rilon Holding AG due to a lack of succession. This takeover enabled the expansion of activities in the confectionery sector and the introduction of the then new PP technology, which gave the company additional impetus. Thanks to continuous technical development, esbe plastic has achieved a leading position in this market segment.
At esbe plastic GmbH, we have been actively promoting sustainability for 20 years and have been working intensively on environmentally friendly solutions.
Our highly developed technical infrastructure enables us to react quickly and flexibly to market requirements. With over 70 years of experience, our focus is on processing classic film types such as PP and PET, although alternative materials are also tested for their suitability and sustainability.
Worth knowing
Recycling options
Various recycling options are reported in the media on a daily basis. In 2007, we invested in comprehensive waste management and expanded this further in 2016. In light of the current situation, we would like to inform you about the recycling options and the recycled content of the trays that you receive from us.
Sustainability
esbe plastic GmbH is extremely sensitive to material resources and works waste-free. Sustainable working is a matter of course for us and has been documented and continuously improved for many years. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, for example about reducing the amount of material in your trays or switching from coloured to transparent films. We will also keep you up to date on developments in alternative materials.
It is not the plastic that is the problem,
but how we deal with it.
What is behind the esbe films?
esbe PP film
- The esbe PP film is not a laminated film, but a mono film.
- Our PP film is 100% recyclable.
- The film contains an intrinsic regenerate content of 35-40%.
Our PP films are in demand both in transparent and coloured form as post-consumer recycled material and are used in various applications.
esbe PET film
Our PET films are also monofilms and 100% recyclable. They are available in different variants:
- Transparent and coloured PET films: These are available as 100% virgin material and as films with recycled content.
- recycled content: The recycled content varies from 10% to 100%.
Transparent PET films are also in demand as post-consumer recyclate and are used accordingly. The production of coloured variants is also technically possible.
